What this one is good at
Does the two things
Releases the lock and records the punch, in one action, into the same record everything else reads. The rest of this page is about what it does not have.
QR and card
Card QR codes, visitor QR codes and server-minted codes, plus ID cards as standard with IC cards as an option. A touch keypad behind both for a PIN.
A million events on board
The local log holds a million records and 100,000 credentials. Take the network away for a week and nothing is lost; it catches up when the network returns.
Wiegand in and out
It can sit in front of an access controller you already own, reading credentials and passing them on, rather than replacing a working panel.
Cheapest way to cover a door
On a site with one main entrance and four secondary ones, this is what goes on the four. Same records, same live view, a fraction of the terminal.
USB stick in and out
Users in and logs out on a USB stick, up to 100,000 records, for a door with no network at all. Not the way to run a site, but it means an awkward outbuilding is still countable.
With Attendance
The door happens, and it is in the software.
This is not a terminal you buy and then find an export routine for. It is integrated with Attendance at attendance.cy, and a punch at this door is in the live view before the person has finished walking through it.
Real time, not a poll interval
The gateway holds an open stream and pushes every event the instant it happens. No refresh, no five-minute wait, no "last synced at". Somebody checks in and the board has them.
Three layers, so nothing is lost
The push is the fast path. Behind it Attendance polls on a watermark with a five-minute overlap, and behind that the terminal keeps its own log: up to a million events. Cut the network for a week and every punch still arrives, carrying the time it was made.
Straight into hours, not a spreadsheet
The punch becomes a shift, the shift becomes hours, and the hours become an approved payroll batch: in one record, with the corrections attached to it. Nothing is re-keyed and nothing is reconciled by memory at the end of the month.
You can see the terminal itself
Online or not, when it was last seen, and whether collection is current or overdue: per unit, in the portal. A terminal that quietly stops reporting is visible the same day rather than when somebody queries a missing shift.

Not right for
A main staff entrance at 07:00. A 2.8-inch screen and a deliberate scan per person is slow when forty people arrive together. Put a face terminal there and these on everything else.
